Minutewomen Claim Fifth Shutout With 1-0 Victory Over Lafayette

October 13, 2024 | Field Hockey

EASTON, PA. -- No. 15 Massachusetts (11-3, 4-0) gutted out a defensive matchup, claiming a 1-0 shutout victory over Lafayette (8-5, 3-1) on Sunday at Rappolt Field. With the win, Massachusetts claimed its fifth shutout and fourth road win of the season.

Sophomore Neva Eisenga came up clutch with the game's lone goal, recording a score in back-to-back games for the first time in her young career. Eisenga now sits with nine points on three goals and three assists this season.

Graduate student Claire Danahy dished out her 10th assist of the season, now sitting tied for first in the Atlantic 10. With the assist Danahy recorded her 20th point of the season, leading the team.

Fellow graduate student Elena Clococeanu led all players with three shots on the day. Senior Hannah de Gast continued to be a consistent presence inserting penalty corners, dishing out her sixth assist of the season.

Lafayette was led by Lineke Spaans who tallied two shots on the day.
