Massachusetts Earns Sixth Shutout In 3-0 Win Over Lock Haven

AMHERST, MASS. -- No. 14 Massachusetts (12-3, 5-0) continued it's dominant stretch of defensive play, earning a 3-0 shutout victory over Lock Haven (2-13, 1-4) on Friday at Gladchuk Field Hockey Complex. With the win, Massachusetts remains undefeated in Atlantic 10 play while securing its sixth shutout of the season.

Graduate student Elena Clococeanu led the way for the Minutewomen offensively, converting two penalty corner goals for her second brace in the maroon and white. With the brace Clococeanu now ranks eighth in the A-10 in goals scored, totaling eight across 15 games.

Midfielders Hannah De Gast and Claire Danahy connected with Clococeanu on both goals, each recording a pair of assists on the day. Danahy now leads the A-10 with 12 assists on the year, while De Gast dished out her seventh and eighth of the season.

Sophomore Kristy Leonard capped the win with her third goal of the season, giving UMass its seventh game with three or more goals scored.

Both Massachusetts goalkeepers appeared, combining for a three save shutout and a win.
