Massachusetts Men’s Cross Country Takes 17th At Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – University of Massachusetts men's cross country returned to action at the Paul Short Run on Saturday morning and took 17th out of 43 teams in the Men's College Gold 8K. The Minutemen posted a team score of 459 while Yale led the field with a score of 101.

- Will Kenney led UMass for a third-straight meet to start the season, placing 35th in 24:36.3 in the field of 399 competitors.
- Freshman Erik Unger posted his best showing as a Minuteman so far as the squad's No. 2, taking 67th with a time of 24:51.2.
- Robert Carew finished in the scoring for a third straight meet, taking third for UMass and 101st overall (25:04.8).
- Surafel Mengist crossed as the Minutemen's fourth scorer in 112th (25:08.8).
- Liam Ouellette completed the top-five for UMass in 155th (25:24.9).
