Men's Cross Country Posts Perfect Score at Ken O'Brien Minuteman Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts posted a perfect score to win the Ken O'Brien Minuteman Invitational on Saturday at the UMass Cross Country Course. Springfield College came in second with 51 points and AIC rounded out the field with a score of 77. Will Kenney led the field with a winning time of 18 minutes, 38.88 seconds in the 6K.
THE UMASS TOP-FIVE
- It marked Kenney's first time as UMass lead finisher and first individual win of his career.
- Bobby Carew was the No. 2 runner for the Minutemen, taking second overall (18:54.11).
- Loeden Rodrigues followed in third (18:59.84) with his best career overall finish.
- Surafel Mengist placed fourth overall (19:00.92), besting his time of 19:35.50 at last year's Ken O'Brien Minuteman Invitational.
- Michael Norberg rounded out the top-five (19:54.80).
UP NEXT
The Minutemen are on the road next week as the squad will travel to Bryant University for the Nassaney Invitational on Saturday, September 9.
