Massachusetts Field Hockey Announces 2023 Slate

Minutewomen welcome nine opponents to Amherst.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts field hockey and head coach Barb Weinberg unveiled the 2023 schedule on Wednesday morning. UMass will host nine games at the Gladchuk Field Hockey Complex.
The Minutewomen open the season with two road contests, beginning at UAlbany on Friday, August 25, at 2 p.m. UMass then makes the trip to Quinnipiac on Sunday, August 27, for a 1 p.m. game.
The home schedule officially kicks off on Friday, September 1, when Massachusetts plays host to Harvard, before welcoming Lafayette on Sunday, September 3. The contest against Lafayette marks the Leopards' first trip to Amherst since the first meeting between the two programs in 1991. Non-conference foes to travel to Amherst include Rutgers (Sept. 24), Yale (Oct. 1), UConn (Oct. 8) and Dartmouth (Oct. 22).
UMass hits the road for a neutral site contest against the 2022 NCAA runner-up No. 2-seeded Northwestern on Saturday, September 9, before taking the pitch against host Maine on Sunday, September 10. The Minutewomen will also travel to square off with non-conference opponent UMass Lowell on Sunday, September 17.
Atlantic 10 competition begins Friday, September 15, with a road tilt against Saint Louis, with the Maroon and White also making trips to VCU (Sept. 29), Davidson (Oct. 13) and Lock Haven (Oct. 27), which will be the final tune-up heading into the Atlantic 10 Championship.
Massachusetts highlights in-conference play with home matchups at the 'Chuk against La Salle (Sept. 22), the defending A-10 Champions, Saint Joseph's (Oct. 6) and Richmond (Oct. 20).
The A-10 Championships will be held on Friday, November 2, through Sunday, November 4, hosted by VCU. Times will be determined at a later date.
