Senli lauded Most Outstanding Rookie of the Year, while Senli, Hack and Krasakova earn All-Conference nods.
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Freshman Melisa Senli tabbed the Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Rookie of the Year to headline a total of four postseason awards for the University of Massachusetts tennis team, the league announced on Tuesday morning.
Senli becomes only the eighth rookie in program history to earn the honor, including the third in the last five seasons, with Renata Farima (2022) and Jodie Lawrence-Taylor (2019) receiving the award. It also marks the first time the program has had back-to-back Most Outstanding Rookie of the Year accolades. In addition, Senli was also named to the league's All-Conference Team.
Danielle Hack joined Senli on the All-Conference First Team, while Mariya Krasakova was selected to the All-Conference Second Team. Hack earns First Team honors for the first time in her career, after being placed on the Second Team last season. Krasakova garners a Second Team nod for the second consecutive year.
Senli finished the season with an overall singles record of 11-6 and a 4-1 record in A-10 competition, spending most of her time at both court No. 1 and No. 2. In doubles, the Izmir, Turkey, native, posted an 11-5 record, going 4-1 in the conference, partnering with Krasakova at No. 1, primarily. Throughout the season, Senli claimed three A-10 Rookie of the Week honors.
Hack completed the year with a 9-5 overall singles record and a 2-1 record in A-10 competition, splitting time between No. 1 and No. 2 singles. In doubles play, the Surrey, England, native, recorded a 12-5 record, partnering mostly with teammate Anna Napadiy at the No. 2 slot. The duo finished with a perfect A-10 Conference record of 6-0.
Krasakova had a 13-3 singles mark overall, while staying unblemished in the A-10 at 5-0, taking over the No. 3 position all year. The Novosibirsk, Russia, native, held an 11-5 overall doubles record and 4-1 in the league. She partnered with Senli in doubles play, as the duo primarily competed at court No. 1, going 8-5 in the spot.
