Biedenkapp, Frazee, Wilmoth Tabbed UMass Student-Athletes Of The Week

The trio of UMass athletes will be recognized at Wednesday’s sports luncheon.
AMHERST, Mass. – Heidi Biedenkapp, Megan Frazee, and Charlotte Wilmoth were tabbed the UMass Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. The trio will be honored at the next UMass Sports Luncheon at the Berkshire Dining Commons on Wednesday.

Biedenkapp (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) stroked her Varsity 4 (a championship point earning boat) to a 6-0 record against two top A-10 opponents and four quality out of conference opponents (UConn, Lehigh, Bucknell and Marist) this weekend at the A-10 Invitational in Teaneck, NJ. Opening the day, Heidi led her crew to a dominating 33 second victory over 2022's A-10 bronze medal crew from Saint Joseph's. This is equivalent to 11 boat lengths ahead of the competition. In the afternoon Heidi led her crew to another impressive 10 second victory over 2022's silver medal winning crew from George Washington. This is equivalent to three and a half boat lengths ahead of the competition.

Frazee (Westford, Mass.) won the pole vault at the UMass Flagship Opener meet, leaping 11' 11.75", tying her for No. 4 all-time at UMass in the event and tying her for No. 2 in the Atlantic 10 in the event.

Wilmoth (South Salem, N.Y.) Â scored three goals and added two assists in a 17-5 win over Duquesne for No. 14-ranked women's lacrosse on Saturday. Wilmoth put all three of her shots in the back of the net and scored back-to-back goals to open the first four minutes of the contest. The junior finished with four points in the first quarter as she followed her goals with two assists. Wilmoth added her third goal to complete the hat trick and give her a team-leading 32 goals on the season with just over nine minutes left in the third quarter.Â
