Massachusetts Tennis Travels To Georgetown, George Washington

The Minutewomen match up with the Hoyas on Friday, March 17 at 12 p.m., before taking on A-10 rival George Washington on Saturday, March 18 at 12 p.m.

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis heads to Washington, D.C., for two matches this weekend, taking on Georgetown University on Friday, March 17 at 12 p.m., before beginning Atlantic 10 Conference play with a matchup against George Washington University at 12 p.m., on Saturday, March 18.
 
Last Time Out
Massachusetts fell 6-1 to then-No. 42 ranked Brown on the road last Sunday. The loss moved the Minutewomen's record to 6-3 on the season.
 
Brown picked up the doubles point, before garnering five singles victories. Mariya Krasakova picked up Massachusetts' lone point with a 6-2, 6-2, win over her opponent at court No. 3.
 
Scouting Georgetown
The Hoyas hold an 8-4 overall record heading into Friday's match, after picking a 6-1 victory over UC Riverside on Tuesday, March 7. Georgetown is currently on a four0match win streak, and its four losses came to Maryland (7-0), Duke (7-0), Army (6-1) and Creighton (6-1) earlier in the season.
 
Scouting George Washington
The Colonials are coming off a 4-3 loss to Buffalo on Wednesday, heading into Saturday with a 4-7-1 record, including a 1-1 A-10 Conference record. George Washington won against Bucknell (6-1), Marquette (4-3), Howard (4-3) and A-10 foe George Mason (4-1).
 
UMass and George Washington met twice last season, splitting a 1-1 record. The Minutewomen defeated the Colonials, 4-0, in its first meeting of the 2022 Spring Season at home, before UMass fell, 4-3, to the No. 7-seeded George Washington team in the A-10 Quarterfinals.
 
Weekly Accolades
After posting a 4-0 weekend, going 2-0 in both doubles and singles play, Senli was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week on February 7, before garnering the laurel on March 1 with a 3-1 overall performance, going 1-1 in doubles and 2-0 in singles.
 
Hack earned A-10 Player of the Week on March 1, marking the first weekly award of her career. She went 4-0 overall, including 2-0 in both doubles and singles competition.
