Senli Collects First Career A-10 Rookie Of The Week Award

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Freshman Melisa Senli collected the first weekly accolade of her career, after being named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, as announced by the league.
Senli and the Minutewomen went 2-0 on the week with 6-1 triumphs over Siena (2/4) and Fairfield (2/5). The Izmir, Turkey, native went undefeated in both doubles and singles competition, finishing with a 4-0 overall record. She partnered with Mariya Krasakova, as the duo took down their Siena opponents, 6-0, and their opponents from Fairfield, 6-3., at No. 2 doubles. At No. 1 singles, Senli won 6-0, 6-1, over Siena, before defeating Fairfield, 6-1, 7-5.
Massachusetts will take a break before returning to action with a trip to South Orange, New Jersey, to take on Seton Hall on Friday, February 17 at 6:45 p.m., before heading to Piscataway, N.J. on Saturday, February 18, to compete against Rutgers at 5 p.m.
