Men's Cross Country Takes Second At New England Championships

Owen Mullahy paced the Minutemen as the Junior placed second overall
BOSTON, Mass.- University of Massachusetts men's cross country headed east to take on the New England Championships in Boston on Saturday. The Minutemen came in second out of 15 teams with a score of 54, trailing Rhode Island's 31. Senior Owen Mullahy was the top finisher for UMass as he ran a personal best 8K time of 25:16.7 to take silver.
THE UMASS TOP-FIVE

After Mullahy, Michael Norberg was the No. 2 runner for the Minutemen as he placed 4th overall with a time of 25:23.0.

Matthew George was the third scorer coming in 7th overall which is his best cross country finish.

Riley Cole finished in 16th with a time of 26:10.5, more than 20 seconds better than his finishing time last year.

Loeden Rodrigues rounded out the scoring for UMass as the junior came in 29th out of 139 runners.

The Minutemen will head to the Bronx for the IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday, October 13.
