Massachusetts Men's Cross Country Team Takes Third At Atlantic 10 Championships

Bobby Carew led the way for the Minutemen, finishing 12th

DAYTON, Ohio- The University of Massachusetts men's cross country team took home bronze at the Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday morning. The Minutemen finished with a team score of 102, behind La Salle (59) and Loyola Chicago (26) who took first for the second year in a row. The third-place finish was the Minutemen's best overall finish at the A-10 meet since 2015 when they claimed second.  Bobby Carew led UMass by placing 12th with a time of 24:32.88 and earning All-Conference honors.
 
 
UMASS TOP FIVE
  • Freshman Erik Unger was the next Minuteman across the finish line coming in 15th with a time of personal best time of 24:37.09. By finishing in the top 15, Unger joins Carew as an All-Conference honoree.
  • Next for UMass was Liam Ouellette in 21st.  The Sophomore completed the 8K course in a personal best time of 24:44.6.
  • Will Kenney (24:47.3) was fourth for UMass, finishing just three spots behind Ouellette in 24th
  • Rounding out the scoring for the Minutemen was Loeden Rodrigues who came in 31st and ran a personal best time, finishing in 24:52.6.
