The 190-pound left-shot forward put up 56 points in the USHL in 2021-22.
AMHERST, Mass. – Kenny Connors, a 6-1, 190-pound left-shot forward will join University of Massachusetts hockey's incoming freshman class for 2022-23, head coach Greg Carvel announced on Thursday. Connors, a native of Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania, joins forward Michael Cameron and defenseman Mikey Adamson as the third member of the Minutemen's Class of 2026.
"Kenny is a power forward who had an impressive year for Dubuque in the USHL this past season," said Carvel. "Kenny is strong on his feet and has good size to go along with the ability to make plays and put the puck in the net. Kenny should grow into being a force to deal with for other teams over his time at UMass. He has the potential to move on to the pro level and we are excited to welcome him into our program."
Connors comes to UMass following two seasons in the United States Hockey League with the Dubuque Fighting Saints where he registered 77 points over 115 games on 30 goals and 47 assists. In 2021-22 with Dubuque, he logged 56 points in 61 contests on 25 goals and 31 assists with a +22 rating during the regular season.
Recently Connors received an invitation to the National Junior Evaluation Camp with USA Hockey alongside UMass teammates Scott Morrow and Ryan Ufko, which begins July 24 in Plymouth, Michigan.
