Massachusetts Tennis Picks up Third Straight Win To Remain Perfect In Conference Play

The Minutewomen improve to 5-0 in A-10 competition with 4-0 victory over George Washington.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis defeated Atlantic 10 rival George Washington University, 4-0, on Sunday morning at the Bay Road Indoor Tennis Center to win its third straight and stay unblemished in conference play. The Minutewomen also earned their seventh consecutive victory on their home courts.
In doubles competition, Renata Farima and Mariya Krasakova finished first with a 6-1 win over Stella Wiesemann and Charlotte Bell of George Washington on court No. 2. Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul took down George Washington's Katarina Marinkovikj and Alexandra Vesikallio, 6-1, at No. 1 to secure the doubles point for UMass.
Krasakova grabbed the first singles point of the day with a quick 6-0, 6-2 triumph over George Washington's Vesikallio at No. 3, before Hack defeated Marinkovikj of George Washington, 6-2, 6-3 on court No. 2. Jonglertakul made it a 4-0 match after earning match point on No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Lindsay Thompson of George Washington.
The match came to a halt before courts No. 1 and No. 5 could finish, and before Dylan Cannon and her George Washington opponent Lara McNaughten could even start at No. 6.
Massachusetts treks to Storrs, Connecticut, for a 2:30 p.m. match at UConn on Wednesday, April 13.
