AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's basketball team concludes its five-game road trip tomorrow night with a matchup at Harvard. The Minutemen and the Crimson tip-off from Lavietes Pavilion at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
Double-Double
Wildens Leveque recorded his first UMass double-double in Tuesday's win at USF with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Both marked season-highs for Leveque, who also knocked down his first two career 3-pointers in the victory.
Bench Boost
The Minutemen rank 16th nationally and lead the Atlantic 10 in bench points per game at 34.4. RJ Luis averages 9.7 points per game in an off the bench role while Isaac Kante and Dyondre Dominguez add 8.5 and 7.8, respectively, per game. UMass scored 34 points off the bench in the win at USF, led by double-digit performers in Dominguez (15) and Luis (14).
Quality, Not Quantity
UMass holds the 18th-best 3-point percentage in the country through six games at just over 40-percent and leads the A-10 in the category. On the year, the Minutemen have made 42 or 104 attempted 3-pointers and are led in the category by T.J. Weeks Jr.'s 52-percent (12-of-23). Meanwhile, UMass ranks 322nd in the country in 3-point attempts per game.
Not In Wildens' House
Wildens Leveque sits at 34th in the country in blocks per game at 2.0 and set a new career-high for blocks with five in the win over Colorado. Leveque's five blocks set a new Myrtle Beach Invitational record.
Series vs. Harvard
UMass holds an 18-14 all-time series lead over Harvard dating back to their first meeting during the 1920-21 season. The Minutemen stormed back from down by 17 points in last season's matchup to come away with an 87-77 win to mark the first win since 2016 over the Crimson. Noah Fernandes led UMass with a game-high 24 points to go along with seven rebounds and nine assists.
Looking Ahead
The Minutemen return home to the Mullins Center for their next two contests, beginning with UAlbany at 7 p.m. on Monday before hosting UMass Lowell at Thursday at 7 p.m. UMass then hits the road for a pair of Basketball Hall of Fame contests against Hofstra in Brooklyn and North Texas in Springfield, Mass.
