AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's basketball team returns to action this week with a pair of road.contests beginning tomorrow night at USF. The Minutemen take on the Bulls at 7 p.m. from the Yuengling Center on ESPN+.

Myrtle Beach Champs
The Minutemen went 3-0 en route to the Myrtle Beach Invitational Championship last week, capping off the week with a 60-54 win over Charlotte in the title game. Noah Fernandes was named the tournament's MVP after averaging 15.0 points for the week while Matt Cross was named to the all-tournament team. The in-season tournament win marked the first for UMass since the 2013 Charleston Classic.

MBI MVP
Noah Fernandes was named the Myrtle Beach Invitational MVP after averaging 15.0 points over three games, including 22 in an opening round win over Colorado. Fernandes followed by knocking down a buzzer-beating 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds left to help UMass to a 71-69 win over Murray State.

Bench Boost
UMass ranks 18th nationally and leads the Atlantic 10 in bench points per game at 34.5 per contest. Isaac Kante leads the bench crew with 9.2 points in addition to 4.0 rebounds per game while RJ Luis has chipped in 8.8 points per night.

Heating Up
The Minutemen have been steadily improving from behind the arc and are shooting 39.8-percent from range this season after most recently going 7-for-13 against Charlotte. T.J. Weeks Jr. leads the way at 10-of-18 (.556) from deep for a team that ranks 22nd nationally in 3-point shooting percentage.

Who Wants It More?
UMass averages just under 40 rebounds per game and hauls in an average of 12.8 offensive rebounds a night to rank third in the A-10 in the category. The Minutemen held Charlotte to just six first half rebounds in the MBI Championship game a week from Sunday. Matt Cross owns a team-leading 7.0 rebound average while Brandon Martin ranks second at 5.6 per contest.

Shot Blocker
Wildens Leveque set a new MBI record for blocks in a game with five in the win against Colorado. Leveque averages 1.8 blocks per game to rank third in the A-10 and top-60 nationally.

Road Trip
UMass plays its first true road game of the season on Tuesday against the Bulls in the Yuengling Center. The game is part of five consecutive away from home for the Minutemen after three games on a neutral court last week.

Looking Ahead
The Minutemen remain out on the road for a Friday night matchup at Harvard before returning home to the Mullins Center for their next two. UMass hosts UAlbany on Monday, Dec. 5 and UMass Lowell on Thursday, Dec. 8, both at 7 p.m.
