Cameron Carson’s career-long 45-yard field goal was the lone score of the day for the Minutemen.
Brady Olson was 12-for-27 for 110 yards and ran for 21 (4 attempts) and Zamar Wise completed 3-of-6 passes for 19 yards and was the leading rusher for the Minutemen with 60 yards on 12 carries. Ellis Merriweather totaled 65 yards on four receptions and Donte Lindsey was UMass' leading tackler with nine stops.
For the Seminoles, Jashaum Corbin ran for 127 yards on 11 carries and registered one of FSU's five rushing TDs on the day. Jordan Travis completed 5-of-10 passes for 123 yards and Andrew Parchment had two catches for 65 yards as the Seminoles top receiver on the day.
Gerrell Johnson forced and recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff, helping set up Carson's field goal on UMass' opening drive.
Florida State responded immediately though, going 75 yards on six plays, capped by Jordan Travis' three-yard touchdown run. The Seminoles later added a 36-yard field goal from Ryan Fitzgerald to lead 10-3 after the first quarter.
FSU then broke the game open with a 28-point second quarter, with three TDs on the ground and a pick six to take a 38-3 advantage into the locker room at the half.
The Seminoles went on to score two more touchdowns in the third and another in the fourth.
UMass returns to action next Saturday, October 30, at Liberty. Kickoff is set for noon in Lynchburg, Virginia.
