UMass Athletics Announces Staff Additions, Promotions

Burnham, Rosati introduced; Leonard, Pandiani elevated
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts Athletics announced the addition of Director of Broadcasting Jay Burnham and Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations Anthony Rosati on Friday. Additionally, Alan Pandiani has been elevated into the role of Associate Director of Athletics for External Operations while Alyssa Leonard has been promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing and Fan Experience.
Jay Burnham • Director of Broadcasting
Burnham, who originally joined the department as the men's basketball play-by-play broadcaster in Nov., 2018, will oversee the department's broadcast efforts while continuing his on-air role with men's basketball and adding responsibilities related to the football program.

Burnham joined the UMass Sports Network with more than 15 years of radio and television play-by-play experience. Most recently, he served five years as the television play-by-play broadcaster for VCU men's and women's basketball and lead play-by-play broadcaster and television host for the Double-A San Francisco Giants affiliate, the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Burnham is a native of Western Massachusetts, hailing from Shelburne Falls.
Anthony Rosati • Assistant AD/Facilities & Operations
Rosati joined the Massachusetts staff following an extended tenure on the University of Connecticut campus that included roles as the Director of Athletic Facilities and Graphic Enhancements (2017-19) and the Gampel Pavilion Facility Manager (2013-17). Prior to his time in Storrs, Rosati served as the Director of Operations at the XL Center in nearby Hartford, Connecticut.

As UConn's Director of Athletic Facilities and Graphic Enhancements, Rosati oversaw the overall planning, operation and management of all athletic facilities and venues. Additionally, Rosati served as a manager for capital projects at the university and identified, managed and executed graphic enhancements for athletic department facilities.
Alyssa Leonard • Assistant AD/Marketing & Fan Experience
Leonard will oversee the sales and fan experience team and coordinate marketing and promotion and community engagement opportunities for all 21 varsity programs in her new role. Additionally, Leonard will serve as the department liaison with the university's spirit programs and will manage the sale and fan experience student internship program.

During her first year at UMass, Leonard managed the marketing and promotional elements related to the football and hockey programs, including advertising, in-game entertainment, gameday promotions and community engagement initiatives, a function she will continue to hold in her new role.
Alan Pandiani • Associate AD/External Operations
In his new capacity, Pandiani provides direct oversight of all external athletic department functions, including for the marketing, ticketing, communications, creative services and broadcast units. He also serves as the athletic department's liaison to Learfield IMG College's UMass Sports Properties. Pandiani originally joined the University of Massachusetts staff in Aug., 2015 as the Associate Director of Athletics for Sales and Fan Experience.

Pandiani previously spearheaded athletic revenue generation, marketing and brand management and business analytics to enhance the fan experience. A native of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, he came to Amherst after spending the prior two years at Atlanta-based sports business consulting firm, the Aspire Group Inc.
