Top-Seeded Massachusetts To Face No. 7 Seed Boston College In Hockey East Semifinal Friday

The Minutemen and the Eagles will square off at 7:30 p.m. at the TD Garden and the matchup will be televised on NESNplus.
 AMHERST, Mass. – No. 1 seed University of Massachusetts hockey will take on No. 7 seed Boston College on Friday, March 22, in the Hockey East Semifinal at 7:30 p.m. at the TD Garden in Boston. The matchup, which will be televised live on NESNplus and streamed online on FloHockey.tv outside NESN's New England coverage area, will determine which team will advance to Saturday's Hockey East Championship game at 7 p.m.

The Minutemen earned their first Hockey East Semifinals berth since 2007 after sweeping No. 8 seed New Hampshire in two games at the Mullins Center this past weekend. UMass erased a 3-0 second period deficit for a thrilling 5-4 double overtime win in game one and then blanked the Wildcats in game two, 6-0. The Minutemen, currently 28-8-0 on the season, are 1-2 in previous Hockey East Semifinals matchups.

BC advanced to the Garden after upsetting No. 2 seed Providence in three games in the Hockey East Quarterfinals. The Eagles dropped game one to the Friars, 5-4 in overtime, but rallied to take games two and three 4-3 (OT) and 2-1, respectively. BC is just the third No. 7 seed to reach the semifinals in league history after Vermont (2015) and Providence (2012).

Ticket prices start at just $17 in the balcony, $39 in the loge, $41 for the first row of the loge, and $43 for club seats. Semifinal tickets include admission to both semifinal games. Student tickets, located in the upper balcony, will be made available for $10 when showing a valid student ID, either on campus or at the TD Garden Box Office. Groups of 15 or more are also eligible for a $5 discount on $17 balcony seats and a $7 discount on select loge seats. All discounted tickets must be purchased at the TD Garden Box Office.
