Famiglietti Paces Men’s XC To Sixth At A-10 Championships

The senior finished 13th overall to earn his first all-conference accolade of his career.
MECHANICSVILLE, Va. – Senior Michael Famiglietti paced the University of Massachusetts cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday morning in Pole Green Park. The Minutemen had all five of their scorers land in the top-50, totaling 145 points, while Dayton (72 points) captured the team title.
Famiglietti placed 13th overall, finishing the 8K race in 25 minutes, 12.9 seconds, en route to his first career Atlantic 10 Cross Country All-Conference accolade.
Junior Dawson Bathgate was next to complete the course for UMass in 20th out of 129 competitors with a time of 25 minutes, 33.3 seconds. Freshman Josh Rahn came in 26th as the Minutemen's No. 3 runner at 25 minutes, 36.1 seconds.
In fourth for the Minutemen and 36th overall, junior Kendall Westhoff crossed the finish line at 25 minutes, 43.3 seconds, while junior Michael McDonald was UMass' fifth scorer in 50th with a time of 25 minutes, 54.5 seconds.
The Minutemen will be back in action on Fri., Nov. 9, at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships at Audubon Golf Course in Buffalo, New York.
