Harris Wins High Jump At John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON – University of Massachusetts women's track and field traveled to the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday. At the unscored meet, the Minutewomen saw individuals post 10 New England qualifying marks, three ECAC qualifiers and two new program top-five all time performances.

Sophomore Jada Harris had a career day in high jump, winning the event with height of 5 feet, 8.75 inches, good for second all-time in the UMass record book. The mark met both the New England and ECAC standards, as well.

Freshman Bryanna Rivers raced to 11^th in the 800m run at 2 minutes, 12.11 seconds. The performance was a New England and ECAC qualifier and landed her third all-time in UMass history in the event.

Junior Charlotte Robison placed in the top eight in two events. She claimed third in long jump at 18 feet, 0.25 inches and finished sixth in 60 meter hurdles at 9.20 seconds, both New England-qualifying marks.

Senior Colleen Sands placed 15^th in the 3,000m run, clocking in at 9:51.73 to meet both the New England and ECAC standards in the event.

Senior Diamante Spencer and sophomore Lindsay Witt took 13^th and 14^th in 200m dash in 25.27 seconds and 25.33 seconds, respectively. Both times were New England qualifiers.

Senior Kayla Rorke cleared a New England-qualifying height of 11 feet, 6.25 inches in pole vault, taking sixth at the meet.

Junior Olivia Weir clocked in at 2 minutes, 58.09 seconds in 1000m, finishing 18^th. Freshman Caroline Clark ran the mile in 5 minutes, 4.05 seconds. Both times were New England qualifiers.

The Minutewomen will be back in action next Friday, Feb. 2, when the squad will open day one of the New England Championships in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
