Tennis Starts Road Swing at Yale Saturday

Minutewomen begin stretch of eight away from home against the Bulldogs.
AMHERST, Mass. – A stretch of eight matches on the road will begin on Saturday as the UMass tennis team heads to Yale. Doubles play on Saturday is set to begin at 11 a.m. at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. Streaming video for the match will be available for free at http://www.streamingtennis.com/Yale/.
The Minutewomen (5-3) are coming off a split set of home matches last weekend with a loss to Boston College and a win over Army.
Brittany Collens continues to lead UMass with a 14-5 singles record followed by Janja Kovacevic who is 10-4 on the year. Ana Yrazusta is on the cusp of double-figure wins with a 9-6 record including a 6-2 mark in dual matches.
Doubles play continues to be a strength of the Minutewomen who having a 19-4 mark in dual matches. The combo of Kovacevic and Yrazusta are undefeated in dual matches this year at 8-0 followed by Ruth Crawford and Anna Woosley who are 5-2.
Yale is 0-7 on the year after falling to a trio of nationally ranked opponents in the ITA National Indoor Championship. The Bulldogs and Minutewomen have one shared opponent this spring in Boston College. Yale fell 5-2 to the Eagles back on Jan. 26.
Following the match against Yale, UMass will next head to Dartmouth on Saturday, March 4 for a 1 p.m. dual match.
