Mulligan, Jarreau Named Student-Athletes of the Week

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts Athletics has selected Maggie Mulligan and DeJon Jarreau as its Student-Athletes of the Week for Nov. 14-20.

Mulligan, a junior from Boston, Massachusetts, posted a trio of double-doubles in women's basketball wins over North Dakota State and Montana and a loss at Iowa. Overall, she averaged 15.7 points and 12.3 rebounds in the three games. In Sunday's win over Montana, she had a career-best 24 points and a career-best 15 rebounds along with two blocks. Against the Hawkeyes, she scored 11 points while adding 12 rebounds. In Monday's win over NDSU, Mulligan had 12 points, 10 rebounds, a block and two steals.

Jarreau, a freshman from New Orleans, Louisiana, was pivotal in men's basketball's win over Temple, scoring a team-best 16 points, including nine in the second half. He tallied five of his 16 points during the last 34 seconds of the game when the Minutemen turned a two-point deficit into a three-point win. Jarreau hit a right-side three-pointer to give the Minutemen the lead before he scored a fast break layup with seven seconds to seal the win. He started the week with a career day at Ole Miss via 25 points, the most by an A-10 freshman this season, eight boards and six assists. Through four career games, Jarreau averages 12.3 points, 6.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per appearance.
