Iacobellis has played in 68 of a possible 70 games thus far through two seasons in a Minutemen uniform, totaling 45 career points on 19 goals and 26 assists.
"Thus far at UMass, Steven's career has been marked by unrelenting competitiveness and consistent productivity, said Micheletto. "These traits have not only garnered the respect of teams around Hockey East, but more importantly the admiration of his teammates. Steven has earned this reward by doing things the right way each and every day in the classroom, in the weight room, and on the ice. I'm thrilled that his teammates have elected him captain and excited for the future of UMass Hockey with him as our captain."
