The Shot Of A Lifetime - Frank Vatrano
April 15, 2015 | Hockey
As part of his internship with the UMass Media Relations department, former Minuteman Frank Vatrano is blogging and sharing his experiences and first impressions of professional hockey as a member of the Boston Bruins organization.
This past weekend we had three games, beginning with a home-and-home with the Worcester Sharks Friday and Saturday night. We won both games and I was very fortunate to have scored my first professional goal on Saturday night in front of many friends and family. It is definitely a moment that I will never forget and I am very grateful that friends and family were there to enjoy it with me.
Sunday afternoon we played the Hartford Wolfpack and lost 4-1. Overall, it was a very good weekend for us as we were able to get four out of six possible points on the weekend and moved up a few spots in the standings.
This week we are preparing for the final three games of the regular season--Friday vs. Worcester, Saturday at Portland and Sunday vs. Manchester. Practice has been very different this week compared to how they usually are. Due to our season being so long, rest is very important at this time of the year and our practices have been just 45 minutes apiece this whole week. Hopefully this weekend we get all six points so we go into playoffs rolling!
Thank you for reading and Go Bruins!
