AMHERST, Mass. - The Massachusetts women's swimming & diving team has earned academic recognition by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America as a CSCAA Scholar All-America team.

Under Head Coach Bob Newcomb and head diving coach Mandy Hixon, the Minutewomen posted a 3.1 team GPA in the Fall 2014 semester and were one of nearly 150 Division I squads to receive the honor. The award is given to teams which achieve an overall mark above 3.0.

UMass has received the Scholar All-America award four of the last six years and eight times since 2002.

Led by senior Rachel Dushman, who boasts a 3.967 GPA in Kinesiology, UMass added to its collection of recent academic accolades. Dushman was one of three Minutewomen, along with Katie Arnott (3.78) and Jocelyn Yuen (3.78) to be named to the Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference team earlier this week.

Massachusetts was one of seven schools in the Atlantic 10 to obtain Scholar All-America honors, joined by Duquesne, La Salle, St. Bonaventure, George Washington, Richmond, and Davidson.
