Tennis Takes Third Straight Match 7-0 Over Marist

For the second time this weekend and the third time in as many matches, the UMass women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory after defeating Marist on Saturday afternoon at the Bay Road Tennis Center. The win comes on the heels of beating Army 7-0 on Friday afternoon.

UMass now stands at 4-2 on the season in dual matches and will have 12 days off until competing at Dartmouth on Feb. 26 (5 PM).

As they did yesterday, the Minutewomen swept doubles play to earn the opening point of the match. No. 1 doubles pair of Ana Yrazusta and Carol Benito improved to 13-4 this year with a 6-4 win. Chanel Glasper and Anna Woosley earned a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles, while Brittany Collens and Isabel Balsavage picked up a 6-2 win in No. 3 doubles play.

Aarzoo Malik earned her second straight win at No. 1 singles, while Yrazusta reached her 10th win of the year with a 6-1, 6-1 straight set victory in No. 2 singles.

Arielle Griffin won at No. 3 singles, while Benito and Collens picked up straight set wins in No. 4 and No. 5 singles play, respectively.

Rounding out UMass' performances today was Glasper who won her team-best 67th career match.
