Big Green Invite Next For Women's Tennis

Amherst, Mass. - The UMass women's tennis heads to Hanover, New Hampshire this weekend to take part in the Big Green Invite hosted by Dartmouth College. It will run through Friday, Nov. 6 until Sunday, Nov. 8.
The set-up of the invite will be three days of dual matches between host Dartmouth, UMass, Minnesota and Denver.
Last season, UMass also finished its fall season at Dartmouth with strong play from doubles pair Carol Benito and Ana Yrazusta. The duo earned wins over Dartmouth, Boston University, and Minnesota. Senior Arielle Griffin played in singles finishing with a record of 2-0 leading the Minutewomen.
The Minutewomen are returning to Hanover after a 12-day rest following the ITA Northeast Regionals. At the regionals, Yrazusta fought her way to the Round of 16 while she and Benito made it to Round of 32 in doubles play. Anna Woosley and teammate Ruth Crawford continued on to Round of 32 in doubles as well.
The Big Green Invite is the third and final tournament to occur in the fall season. The spring season begins at Brown on Jan. 29.
Through the fall season, Woosley leads the Minutewomen with her singles record of 4-1 with Crawford close behind with a record of 4-3. In doubles, Benito and Yrazusta lead the team with a strong record of 7-2.
