BOSTON, Mass. - University of Massachusetts women's cross country closed out its 2015 season at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Friday afternoon in Franklin Park. Junior Heather MacLean led the Minutewomen to a 19th-place team finish out of 38 squads with 547 points.

MacLean finished her cross country campaign running as UMass' No. 1 finisher once again as she ran the 6K course in 21 minutes, 51.1 seconds to claim 44th of 259 competitors. Carly Zinner was second for the team, nabbing 91st overall with a time of 22 minutes, 29.3 seconds.

Colleen Sands, Natalie Mako, and Alexa Livingstone also took scoring positions for the Minutewomen. Sands was 120th at 22 minutes, 54.1 seconds, while Mako was fourth for the team and 130th overall at 23:00.8. Freshman Livingstone rounded out the top-five finishers with a 23:28.5 performance, good for 164th.

Providence won the NCAA Northeast Regional with 49 points, Syracuse nabbed second with 92 points, and Boston College took third with 139 points.

This concludes the Minutewomen's 2015 cross country season, while UMass' indoor track & field campaign will kick off in December.
