KINGSTON, R.I. - The Massachusetts men's swimming & diving team cruised to the Rhode Island Invitational title on Saturday, outscoring George Washington by 160 points en route to a 529-369 victory at the Tootell Aquatics Center on Saturday.
UMass won eight events on Saturday across two sessions of racing and diving for the title.
Michael Glenn was spectacular, winning the 400 Individual Medley, and both the 100 and 200 Breaststroke events to score 39 points for the Minutemen.
Oliver Wyeth claimed the 100 Backstroke by more than three seconds, touching in 51.47.
Both UMass squads will return home to face Bryant next Saturday, Jan. 17 in a dual meet at the Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. Pool inside Boyden Gymnasium. The swimming-only meet will begin at Noon and the program's seniors will be recognized prior to the meet.
