Q: What number are you going to be wearing at UMass and why did you choose that number?
A: " I'm wearing number 21 and I'm wearing it because my normal number is #9 and that's not available this year. Twenty-one was the next best number."
Q: What made you choose UMass?
A: "Well, when I came here on my visit it felt right. Coach Miller was just very friendly and Coach Micheletto also was very friendly. The guys all introduced themselves one by one. It just felt like the right place to go."
Q: What were some of your first impressions of UMass?
A: "Just like, the rink. The rink is one of the better rinks in college hockey. Like I said earlier, the guys were great and the facilities are awesome, obviously. That's basically what attracted me to UMass."
Q: Describe yourself as a hockey player.
A: "As a hockey player, I'd say I like to play very intense. I'm a two-way forward. I definitely like to score. I mostly like to play on the puck, but very tenacious and good in the defensive zone as well."
Q: Take us through your hockey background, some of the places you played.
A: "My youth career, I grew up I played for the Rochester Alliance. My freshman year of high school, I moved to Detroit and I played two seasons of hockey at Detroit Belle Tire. Then I transferred to Shattuck-St. Mary's and my junior and senior years I played for Shattuck-St. Mary's."
Q: Is there a specific NHL player that you model game after?
A: "I try to model my game after Sidney Crosby, but obviously it's hard with how good he is. But the same type of play, I would say."
Q: Do you know what you plan on majoring in and what you want to do with that?
A: "I'm going to try to major in Business. Hopefully, I would like to own a gym, like a training facility. Either that or a restaurant, something like that."
Q: What are some of your interests outside of hockey?
A: "Music. I'm really big into music. I just like listening to music, mostly like country and stuff like that. My favorite artist right now is Luke Bryan."
