Bomprezzi Posts Tenth-Fastest 1650 In The Country On Sunday

BOSTON - Massachusetts junior Alessandro Bomprezzi completed the Terrier Invitational with one of the top performances in the country, winning the 1650 Freestyle with an NCAA B Standard time of 15:27.33 Sunday
His time was the fastest in the Atlantic 10 and tenth-best in the country thus far.
Teammates Joe Woodman (15:47.05) and Kyle Vieira (15:49.68) were second and third, respectively in the race and in the new A-10 times list.
UMass finished second in the meet with 920.5 points. Host Boston University won the 3-day event with 1036.5 points, while Boston College was third with 818, Army was fourth with 649 and Fairfield was fifth with 105.
Oliver Wyeth was strong in the 200 Backstroke, touching second in 1:48.69 for the No. 1 time in the league this season. Senior Hao Luong's prelim time of 1:48.95 was next in line at No. 3.
Michael Glenn took two seconds off his season-high in the 200 Breaststroke with an A-10 best 2:03.75.
UMass will be off until its January training trip to Puerto Rico on Jan. 3.
