Seedings Released For ITA Northeast Regionals

Ana Yrazusta Acosta and Aarzoo Malik were selected into the singles main draw beginning on Saturday, while Carol Benito and Anna Woosley are on tap for the qualifying singles draw on Thursday. Senior, Arielle Griffin will serve as a second alternate in the qualifying draw. Players must win two matches in order to qualify into the main draw, one on Thursday afternoon and one on Friday morning.
Tandem pairs of Yrazusta and Benito, and Malik and Griffin will team up in the doubles main draw, which will kick off on Friday afternoon. The team of Yrazusta and Benito has found its winning rhythm with a 6-2 record so far in 2014. The duo posted an 8-7 victory over Connecticut in the first dual-match of the season and also clinched three of four wins at the West Point Invitational (10/9, 9/29). Malik and Griffin will also look to continue their wining style into the ITA Regionals. The pair found early success at the West Point Invite, taking home four of five matches faced, including an 8-0 sweep over Seton Hall (9/29).
The forecast for New Haven, Connecticut predicts scattered thunderstorms for Thursday while the rest of the week remains mostly sunny and in the high 60's.
