Butler Named On CSCAA All-American List

AMHERST, Mass. - Michaela Butler was named on The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-American list, which was released last Tuesday. Butler joins 255 Division I All-Americans and 231 Honorable Mention All-Americans. Butler became the first All-American in UMass and Atlantic 10 history this year as she finished fourth on the one-meter springboard at this years NCAA meet.
The redshirt junior from Dennisport, Mass. capped off her second-consecutive undefeated regular season which led to being named the 2013 Atlantic 10 Diver of the Year. Butler qualified for NCAA's at the Zone A Regional meet when she finished third on the one-meter board. In addition to taking fourth in the one-meter at the national championship, she also took 14th on the three-meter springboard.
Georgia, who won this years championship, lead all women's teams with 16 combined All-American selections, 12 of which were First-Team and four that were Honorable Mention.
Last season, both Chris Inglis and Joey Sbordon of the Minutemen swim team were named Honorable Mention All-Americans.
