HANOVER, N.H. - A strong performance in singles play led Dartmouth to a 6-1 win over the UMass tennis team on Wednesday night at the Alexis Ross Tennis Center. The Big Green won all six singles positions against the Minutewomen who start the match by winning the team doubles point. UMass will return to home action on Sunday at the Bay Road Tennis Center against Quinnipiac.
The Minutewomen fall to 6-2 on the year with the Dartmouth loss snapping a four-match win streak.
UMass started the match on Wednesday on a good note by winning the team doubles point. Yuliana Motyl and Chantal Swiszcz won the No. 1 match, while Jessica Podlofsky and Arielle Griffin won at No. 3 doubles.
From there, however, it was all Dartmouth as the Big Green swept all six singles positions.
Dartmouth won four of the six singles matches in straight sets, but Sonia Bokhari and Arielle Griffin were able to force tie-breaker sets.
