Butler To Compete In USA Diving Winter Nationals This Week

AUSTIN - Massachusetts senior diver Michaela Butler isn't at home relaxing during her winter vacation. The All-American diver is competing in the USA Diving Winter Nationals this week at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.

She competed in Tuesday's 1-meter springboard competition and finished 18th with a five-round total score of 231.30. The top eight advanced to the evening finals.

The Dennisport, Mass native will be in the 3-meter preliminaries Wednesday morning.

Butler also participated in the AT&T National Diving Championships in August where she took fifth on the 1-meter event.
