Podlofsky Falls In ITA Regional Qualifying Round

In the ITA Regional Championships Qualifying Round, UMass senior Jessica Podlofsky was knocked out in three sets by Princeton's Dorothy Tang late Thursday night. The pair were part of the opening round of 32 who were playing for a spot in the tournament's Main Draw which begins on Saturday.
The match began at 9 PM at Harvard's Murr Center lasted until 11:30 PM. Tang won the first set 6-1, before Podlofsky was able to rally back for a 6-4 second set win. Tang won the third set 6-2 to advance to Friday's qualifying final rounds.
Sonia Bokhari, Arielle Griffin and Aarzoo Malik will each be playing in the singles Main Draw.
Doubles play will also get underway on Friday with Bokhari and Griffin playing at 2:45 PM. Yuliana Motyl and Malik will play at 4:45 PM.
