Arikian, Craft Earn NSCAA All-Region Honors

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass senior midfielder Ben Arikian and junior forward Bryant Craft were each named to NSCAA All-Region Teams as announced by the organization. Arikian earned second team honors, while Craft was named to the third team in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Arikian, one of the top midfielders to don the Maroon & White, played in 82 matches with 11 career goals and 23 assists for 45 points. He had two goals and a team-best six assists this season for 10 points. The native of West Islip, N.Y., finished his career fourth all-time in program history with his 23 assists.
During his career, he was a two-time Hermann Trophy Watch List selection, a three-time NSCAA All-Region pick, a three-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection, and the 2008 A-10 Midfielder of the Year.
Craft converted to forward to start the 2010 season after playing his first two seasons as a midfielder. The transition paid off with a career-high 7 goals and 2 assists in 18 games. His goal against Saint Joseph's served as the game-winner and he ended the season with goals in three of the final five games.
The Minutemen finished the 2010 season with a 5-5-8 overall record and a 4-2-3 mark in Atlantic 10 play. UMass narrowly missed the A-10 Tournament after ending the regular season in a three-way tie for sixth.
