GREENSBORO, N.C. - Ending her career with style, Lisa Wilson competed in the NCAA Track and Field East Regional Championships on Friday morning in Greensboro, N.C. The stand-out senior has been nothing short of amazing in her final year at UMass, setting the school record in the hammer throw not once but twice.
On Friday, Wilson threw for a distance of 181-11 in the women's hammer throw, placing 16th in a field of 48 competitors. The best mark in the event came from Dorotea Habazin of Virginia Tech, who threw for a distance of 211-11. Friday's mark did not surpass Wilson's current school record, but was one of her best throws of the season.
Friday morning's action marked the conclusion of action for all UMass Athletics for the 2009-2010 academic year.
