ROXBURY, Mass. - The UMass women's and men's indoor track and field teams closed out competition at the ECAC and IC4A Championships. Leading the way for the Minutewomen was Nicole Pompei while the men received a solid performance from the squad's distance medley relay team.

At day two of the ECAC Championships, UMass was carried by strong showings from the team's field athletes. Freshman Nicole Pompei took sixth in the pole vault with a mark of 12-01.50. That height puts Pompei second all-time at UMass in the event, as she bested her previous top mark of 11-11.75.

Junior Stephanie Aguguo placed tenth in triple jump with a mark of 39-01.75. In the weight throw, Lisa Wilson had a toss of 52-05.50 which was good for 14th overall.

On the track side of things for the women, the distance medley relay team of Karen Roa, Courtney Baldwin, Gina Perno, and Michelle Jenssen took eighth place with a time of 11:49.96

For the men at the IC4As, the squad's distance medley relay team finished seventh with a time of 10:00.00. Senior Tyler Cotto set a time of 7.64 in the semifinals of the 55 meter hurdles. Cotto qualified but did not finish in the finals of the event.

With the men's and women's indoor track seasons coming to a close, the teams will look forward to the start of the outdoor season in April. Both squads will kick-off the outdoor season Saturday, Apr. 3 at the UConn Invitational.
