UMass stands at 8-6 on the year as they get ready for the final stretch of the season and prepare for the 2010 A-10 Championships.

Spring Break Trip
The Minutewomen are returning from a three-match road trip in Charleston, S.C. where they took on Charleston Southern, College of Charleston and Prebysterian. UMass registered a 1-2 record on the trip, hanging tough against three very good opponents. The Minutewomen started the week with a, 5-2, loss to #65 Charleston Southern, as Candynce Boney and Jocelyn Providence picked-up the team's two points. The squad then fell to #58 College of Charleston, 6-0, on Wednesday.

The Minutewomen swept the doubles matches and then took five of the six singles matches on their way to the win. Boney notched her second win of the trip at No. 2 singles, while Julia Comas won her first match of the year at the No. 1 spot.

Boney Leads Minutewomen In Charleston
Junior Candynce Boney had an outstanding week for the Minutewomen, earning two singles and one doubles victory over the team's three-match spring break trip. Boney helped UMass to a 1-2 record, including a, 6-1, win over Presbyterian. The Las Vegas, Nevada native grabbed a, 3-6, 6-3, 10-7, win over Brooke Pletcher at No. 3 singles as the team fell to #65 rated Charleston Southern. Boney then teamed up with Maude Lecluyse for an 8-6 win in first doubles, while dominated Olivia McMillan, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles to lift the Minutewomen to a, 6-1, win over Presbyterian.

Minutewomen Snap Losing Streak
The, 6-1, win over Prebysterian in the finale on the spring break trip helped the Minutewomen snap a five-match losing streak as they improved to 8-6 on the season. UMass started the match by sweeping the doubles matches, taking the early, 1-0, lead. The squad went on to win five of the six singles matches. Freshman Julia Comas won her first match of the year at No. 1 singles, beating Heather Heausel, 6-4, 6-3. Candynce Boney also had an impressive win, beating Olivia McMillan, 6-0, 6-0.

Tough Schedule
The Minutewomen, who started the season off with a 7-1 record, had dropped five-straight until their win over Presbyterian on Thursday. The team is now 8-6 on the year, with five of their six losses coming against ranked opponents. UMass has lost matches to #44 Yale, #37 Dartmouth, #58 Brown, #65 Charleston Southern and #58 College of Charleston. No teams in the Atlantic-10 are currently ranked in the top-75 in the country, as the Minutewomen have played a difficult schedule that will prepare them for the A-10 tournament.
