UMass Profile: Claire Pettit

AMHERST, Mass. - Sophomore Claire Pettit's talents reach far beyond her contributions to the Minutewomen cross country/track and field programs. When she's not training, competing or working on her studies here at UMass, Pettit spends much of her time touring around North America in a band.
Pettit, who says she chose to come to UMass because the university, "seemed to have it all", plays the fiddle and is a member of a Celtic group called The Cottars.
A consistent scorer in cross country and the Minutewomen's top performer in the 800 meter run last year as a freshman, Pettit describes her first year as a "big learning experience."
