Men's XC Competes At NCAA Regional Qualifier

BOSTON, Mass. - The UMass men's cross country team placed 11th at the NCAA Regional Qualifier on Saturday in Boston, Mass. The Minutemen finished with 323 points in a field of 36. This was the second time this season that the squad competed at Franklin Park.
Leading the way for the second straight week for UMass was Kevin Johnson who took 43rd overall out of a field of 244, with a time of 32:47. Senior Jonathan Pierce and junior David Johnson, who were separated by only two seconds, finished in 53rd and 56th respectively. The duo posted times of 33:00 and 33:02.
Rounding out the top five for UMass were Andrew McCann and Daniel Barry who took 84th and 87th, with times of 33:32 and 33:36 respectively.
The Minutemen will be wrapping up their season next weekend as they travel to the Big Apple for the IC4A Championships. The meet begins at 10:30 am.
