Minutemen Compete At ISU Pre-Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The UMass men's cross country team took 25th place out of 35 teams at the ISU Pre-Nationals, finishing with 587 points. Stanford University took first place with 47 points, followed by Colorado in second, and BYU in third.
Finishing in first place on the team and 74th overall in the 8k was junior Kevin Johnson with a time of 24:49.4. Crossing the line after Johnson was David Johnson and Andrew McCann with times of 25:03.0 and 25:17.8, good enough for 97th and 118th respectively.
Rounding out the top five for the Minutemen was Jonathan Pierce and Zachary Gordon who finished in 121st and 177th with times of 25:20.3 and 26:01.8 respectively.
The UMass men's cross country team will be back in action on Oct. 31 as they travel to Saint Louis, Mo. for the highly anticipated Atlantic 10 Championships. The race is set to kick off at 10:00 am.
