AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass Women's Tennis team will be hosting two home games this weekend against Holy Cross Friday night at 7:30 and will face off against Long Island Saturday at Noon. The Minutewomen are coming into this game after a 6-1 loss to Yale, Wednesday in New Haven.

This will be the tenth match-up between Holy Cross and UMass with the Crusaders holding a slight lead in the series between the two teams winning five out of the nine matches. The series began in 1983 and the last time the Minutewomen beat Holy Cross was in 2005.

This will be only the second meeting between UMass and Long Island. The two teams met up for the first time in 2006 with the Minutewomen taking the victory and the early lead in the series, 1-0.

With her doubles win on Wednesday, Masha Pozar (Ljubljana, Slovenia) now is tied for first in career doubles wins with Caroline Steele and Susan Hyams with 67 total wins. This weekend Pozar could potentially move into first on her own with any doubles win against her two opponents.
