AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass women's swim team is set to host Northeastern this weekend at the Joseph R. Rogers Pool in Amherst, Ma. This will be the fifth dual meet of the season for the Minutewomen. Two weeks ago the Minutewomen clinched a fourth place finish in the Boston University Invitational after strong finishes from junior Karen Upperco (Titusville, N.J.) and junior Christa Narus (Stony Brook, N.Y.).
In their 2006-07 meeting with Northeastern, the UMass women's team battled hard as they managed to finish at least in the top two spots in 15 out of 18 events. Ultimately, the Minutewomen fell to the Huskies 160.5-139.5 after the Huskies swept the final event, the 400 yard freestyle relay. The Minutewomen are 8-12 all-time against the Huskies.
While the women's swim team takes on Northeastern the men will hold the Intersquad Maroon vs. White Pentathlon and the diving teams will head to Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J. for the Galbraith Diving Invitational.
