DeRosa Leads Minutewomen at New England Championships

Boston, Mass. - Senior captain Christina Derosa (Sound Beach, N.Y.) led the Minutewomen on Saturday as they took a 26th place finish at the New England Championships. Boston's Franklin Park hosted 44 teams and DeRosa finished fourth out of the 290 participants.
DeRosa remined in the front of the pack in Saturday's race, where she finished fourth overall with a time of 17 minutes and 58 seconds. The next Minutewoman to cross the finish line was freshman Lauren Stocker (Westfield, Mass.) who placed 60th with a time of 19 minutes and 31 seconds.
Rounding out the top five for UMass in Saturday's race were freshman Kristin Darling (Miller place, N.Y.), junior Beth Harlow (Melrose, Mass.), and Elizabeth Fisk (Seekonk, Mass) who finished 205th, 211th, and 217th respectively.
The Minutewomen will race again next Saturday when they head to Albany for the Albany Invitational.
