HANOVER, N.H. -- The UMass women's tennis team will head to Hanover this weekend for the Big Green Invitational. The Minutewomen will face host Dartmouth in their first match up of the weekend.

This is the second consecutive year that UMass will compete in the invitational. Last year both Ellen de Jong and Masha Pozar made it to the semifinal round before falling to their host opponents.

The Minutewomen head into the tournament coming off of a 4-3 dual match win over Connecticut that took place on September 26. They are 1-0 on the year.

The strong doubles play of the Minutewomen allowed them to narrowly edge the Huskies. Each of UMass' doubles teams won giving them the deciding point in the meet.

In other tournament play on the season, the doubles team of Masha Pozar and Candynce Boney has been astounding as they won the Army Invitational doubles tournament. The pair also made a run for it in the Cissy Leary Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa. falling in the semifinal round to the eventual champions Kosminskaya/Koulbitskaya (Penn).

The tournament will conclude the fall play for the Minutewomen. Their season will resume February 1, 2008 in a home match against the Boston College Eagles.
