AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts women's basketball junior Pam Rosanio (Southampton, Pa.) has been named the Dinn Brothers/UMass Athlete of the Week Monday afternoon. Rosanio will be presented with her award at Wednesday's Weekly Sports Luncheon in Room 1009 of the Campus Center. Scheduled speakers are women's basketball coach Marnie Dacko, men's basketball coach Travis Ford and hockey coach Don Cahoon.

Rosanio averaged 19.3 ppg and 7.7rpg as UMass went 2-1 last week in conference action. Rosanio shot 55 percent (22-40) from the field and 83 percent (10-12) from the free throw line. She tied a career-high with 24 points against Charlotte on Sunday while also scoring 20 vs. Saint Louis Friday and 14 against La Salle last Monday. In the Saint Louis game, she grabbed a season-high nine rebounds, the third time this season she has just missed her first career double-double with a rebound.

Rosanio and the Minutewomen (12-10, 2-5 A-10) will be on the road for a pair od league games this weekend. First up, UMass plays at Saint Joseph's on Friday, Feb. 2 at 7:00 PM and then heads to St. Bonaventure for a 1:00 PM on Sunday, Feb. 4. Both games will be broadcast live on WMUA, 91.1 FM in Amherst and online at www.umassathletics.com beginning 15 minutes prior to tip-off.
