Regnier Named UMass/Dinn Bros. Athlete of the Week

Amherst, Mass. - Sophomore runner Jesse Regnier has been named the UMass/ Dinn Bros. Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 24. Saturday's early home meet was Regnier's first race of the season where he faced runners from Boston College and Maine. Regnier led the men's team, who dominated the top standings with three runners in the top five and four in the top 10, with a time of 25:11. This allowed him to bring home his first collegiate win ever.
The Cross Country team will travel to New York for the Meet of Champions this weekend for their next meet.
Regnier will be honored Wednesday, September 27, at the UMass Sports Luncheon which will be held in the Campus Center Room 1009 at Noon. The special guest speakers this week will be football coach Don Brown and hockey coach Don Cahoon.
