Men's Swimming Has Strong Showing At Yale Nutmeg Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - A.J. Vozella won the 50 freestyle to lead the men's swim team to a strong showing on Saturday and Sunday at the Nutmeg Invitational hosted by Yale. Evan Swisher, Zack Priest and Nate Bromage also had outstanding weekends for the Minutemen in the final meet of the fall semester. UMass will resume competition in January at the Loyola Invitational in Puerto Rico.
Vozella recorded the only individual win of the weekend taking the 50-yard freestyle in 21.58 seconds.
Bromage and Swisher had well rounded showings once again for the Minutemen as they have all season long. Swisher finished second in the 400 individual medley (4:09.09), third in the 50 free (21.95 seconds), and sixth in the 200 breast (2:14.23). Bromage finished third in the 200 fly (1:57.40), seventh in the 200 free (1:45.23), and eighth in the 200 individual medley (2:00.12).
Rounding out the top performances for UMass was Priest who went third in the 100 fly (52.49 seconds) and sixth in the 100 back (54.55 seconds).
